Keira @ 16 Months

Keira is now all toddler, all the time. She is walking, climbing, and dancing to her own beat (actually she likes to dance to "Shake it Off" every night). We are teaching her how to get down "the safe way" (on her tummy), and she is doing a great job of this. She isn't saying many words (she says "Hi" all the time) but she does make several animal sounds:
  • Dog "Woof"
  • Monkey "ah ah ah"
  • Lion "Roar"
  • Kitty "hisssss"
  • Elephant "pshhhhhhh"

She has also started to pick up on sign language very quickly, her sign "vocabulary" now includes:
  • Milk
  • More
  • All Done
  • Eat
  • Change (we use this for diaper change)
  • Water
  • Book
Her favorite foods right now are:
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Pineapple
  • Pasta
  • Bananas
  • Avocado
  • Anything you can eat with a fork or spoon
She also can understand several requests:
  • Can you get me a book?
  • Where is your shoe?
  • Can you get your sock?
  • Please sit down.
  • Give Waldo "huggies".
  • Clap your hands.
  • Kick your feet
They have been working on learning their body parts at school, and Keira can now point out her:
  • Mouth
  • Nose
  • Ears
  • Belly Button
She is quickly growing out of her 12-18 month jammies, and we are phasing out the last of the 12-month clothes. She must be going through a growth spurt because she is eating like crazy. So far, 10 teeth are fully in and she has 6 more breaking through (including incisors). She typically sleeps from 9pm to 4:30am when she wakes up for milkies, then she will sleep again until 7:30am.

Here's our energetic, fun-loving, affectionate, curious 16-month old baby girl in action!

(This is what happens if I turn my back for more than 30 seconds,
she is on top of the dining room table)

Oh what a beautiful adventure parenthood is!
